FAQs

FAQs: Parks & Family in Qatar

Are parks in Qatar free?

Most public parks are free to enter, including large ones such as MIA Park and Aspire Park. Some have paid attractions inside, and opening hours and rules vary from park to park.

What can families do outside Doha?

Family beaches with play areas, such as Al Farkiya Beach in Al Khor, easy nature walks like Purple Island and camel rides at Sealine all work well with children. Go in the cooler months, or in the evening in summer.

What does 'family only' mean in Qatar?

Some parks, beaches and events are reserved for families, which usually means groups of men on their own may be refused entry. Some places also set aside days for women and children only.

What can families do in Qatar in summer?

From May to September most families move indoors to malls, museums and indoor play centres, as outdoor heat is extreme in the middle of the day. Parks and beaches fill up again after sunset.

Are Qatar's parks open in the evening?

Yes, many parks are busiest after sunset, particularly in summer. Opening hours vary, so check the times posted at the park or on the Ministry of Municipality's channels.
